Gold Star Teen Adventures is recruiting for an exciting event this spring. The GSTA family is going to race in the 2018 Rugged Maniac Adventure Race in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This promises to be an exciting weekend! The race includes (lots of) mud, 20+ challenging obstacles, running, and teamwork! In typical GSTA fashion, we will also fill the weekend with other fun events. Participants will arrive in South Carolina on 15 March and depart on 18 March 2018.
This event is also going to be a fundraiser for GSTA. All participants will raise money that will help pay for the 2018 summer events. There is a contract attached below that explains the requirements for fundraising. This event is open to our Alumni, supporters, donors and anyone that wants to help promote the GSTA mission. Participants can age from 12 and up. We will also be recruiting mentors who think they have what it takes! Sign up quickly as this event is going to fill fast!
As you know GSTA family is really important to us and central to what we do. This year we want to recognize and support one of our mentors and their family. Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Chuck Schretzman is a former infantry officer who served his country honorably. Lieutenant Colonel Schretzman is also the father of Olivia Schretzman. He was recently diagnosed with ALS. Chuck was a star Army Football Player and proudly wore the #55. In support of Olivia, Chuck, and the rest of the family, we want to honor him this year at the Rugged Maniac event by wearing his number and giving a portion of the funds raised to help find a cure for this terrible disease.
Please watch this link to help understand more: The Chuck Schretman Story.
Please fill out the Agreement and Waiver and send back to us at Jessicamccloskey@gstadventures.org. We have also included instructions to set up your fundraising page.
Please let us know if we can help.
