GSTA Outdoor Adventure 2017

Gold Star Teen Adventures is pleased to announce the return of the Outdoor Challenge! This year, Gold Star teens will start the adventure at Camp Mackall, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. For three days, the teens will train with U.S. Special Forces Soldiers, learning the fundamentals of outdoor survival to include procuring water and food, starting fires, building shelters, navigating, and reptile identification. Teens will also challenge themselves on the world famous Special Forces “Nasty Nick” obstacle course and the Special Forces rappel tower. Next, teens will travel to beautiful Franklin, North Carolina, in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Once there, the adventure will continue with white water rafting, granite face rock climbing and rappelling, and putting their newly learned survival skills to the test on a two-day hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail. There will also be plenty of time for campfires, making new friends, connecting with mentors, and plenty more! Don’t miss the trip of a lifetime!
